Gramm-Leach-Bliley


(GLB) Financial Services Modernization Act of 1999 A U.S. law enacted to require, among other things, that financial institutions fully disclose their practices regarding the distribution of personal financial information of their customers, distribute such customer information only if customers give them permission, and implement adequate security practices to protect personal customer information. Full compliance with GLB information privacy and protection requirements was required by July 1, 2001.
